Kenneth Feinberg, a Brockton Native will be the keynote speaker.
Feinberg is an attorney and one of the nation’s leading experts in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. He is a graduate of UMass Amherst and received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from New York University School of Law. He is best known for serving as the Special Master of the Federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001. He is the former Administrator of the Gulf Coast Claims Facility, which was established by the Obama Administration after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill in 2010. Feinberg is the current administrator of the One Fund Boston, which helps families affected by last year’s Boston Marathon bombings In 1992, Feinberg founded Feinberg Rozen, LLP and is currently a managing partner. Feinberg is an adjunct professor at several law schools such as Georgetown University Law Center, University of Pennsylvania Law School, New York University School of Law and many more. Danielle Vollmar is a StormTeam 5 meteorologist for WCVB-TV Channel 5. She joined WCVB-TV in April 2013 serving as the meteorologist for the weekend editions of the “EyeOpener” newscasts.
Prior to joining WCVB-TV, Vollmar was the evening meteorologist on KDAF-TV (CW33) in Dallas. She also hosted the CW 33 morning show, “Eye Opener,” which was broadcast on the Tribune TV stations in Dallas, Houston, Miami, Philly and Portland. Before moving to Dallas, Vollmar served as the weekend evening news meteorologist for KOKH (Fox) in Oklahoma City. She reported on severe and breaking weather stories including multiple tornadoes and the Christmas Eve blizzard of 2009. Vollmar is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) and was honored with an AP Award for “Best Weathercast” when she was the midday meteorologist at WBOC-TV (CBS) in Salisbury, MD. A graduate of Cornell University, Danielle began her career while still in school as the fill-in weather anchor for WENY-TV in Elmira, New York. A native of Philadelphia, Vollmar is an avid Philly sports fan and is excited to be in Boston where she will be surrounded by other sports fans like herself. Having coached girl’s lacrosse programs in both Oklahoma City and Dallas, Danielle hopes to lend her passion for coaching to a team in the area. Vollmar volunteers a great deal in her community and is a past chair of the American Lung Association Stairclimb in Oklahoma City. She is also a member of Junior League. When not working or volunteering, Danielle is a passionate runner and has completed 4 half marathons. |
Michael Curry and son, Malcom Curry will give remarks.
Curry is an attorney, two-time President of the Boston NAACP, and an elected Board member of the National NAACP. Since Curry’s election, more than 2,500 new members have joined the branch, monthly membership meetings are at capacity and a younger generation of leaders has become active in the organization. He is a graduate of Maclester College and received his Juris Doctor from New England Law School. Michael is also the Legislative Affairs Director and Senior Counsel for the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers. Based on his work, he has been recognized locally and nationally for his leadership in health care policy and frequently requested as a panelist on the issue of health reform. |
