Food Service Assistant
An early childhood program located in Brockton MA seeks a full-time Food Service Assistant to work with the Food Service Manager to assist in the preparation of nutritious breakfasts, lunches and snacks as described in our monthly menu. Other responsibilities include:
Salary per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

All staff are subject to a CORI and DCF background check and must complete CPR and First Aid certification. At time of employment, a current physical, proof of MMR and negative TB skin test must be provided.

- Anticipating food preparation needs for meals and use available time to prepare meals accordingly
- Ensuring that food is kept at appropriate serving temperatures
- Assisting in delivering meals to classrooms at scheduled times and removing leftover food, dishes and utensils form classrooms after meals
- Working with the Food Service Manager to maintain clean and sanitary conditions in all aspects of the kitchen, including surfaces, appliances, dishes, utensils and storage areas
- Sharing in the coordination of food for special classroom occasions and/or for BDN school/family events
- Attending training as required
- Providing coverage in the absence of the Food Service Manager for vacation or sick days and be able to properly supervise substitute help
