One of the best things we can do for our little ones is the gift of  joy.  Taking a few minutes out to dance a happy dance whether it be in the kitchen, backyard or playground will help give them the “bounce” they need to face all of the obstacles and challenges life brings.

”Dads curled up with a young one reading offers a great chance for men to be close to their kids; connected through books to the greater world around them...When a Dad takes the time away from other activities, when we make that special effort to read with just them, we teach them quietly how very important they really are to us."

Teacher's Appreciation Week

5/9/2014

This week around the country, Teacher's Appreciation Week was celebrated. Teachers are an integral part of shaping the lives and futures of so many children, and our society as a whole. The following poem is a great illustration of how teachers contribute to the development of so many children.  I personally would like to thank teachers especially the teachers at Brockton Day Nursery!

The Best Teachers

Teachers open up young minds,
showing them the wonders of the intellect
and the miracle
of being able to think for themselves.
A teacher exercises
the mental muscles of students,
stretching and strengthening,
so they can make challenging decisions,
find their way in the world,
and become independent.
The best teachers care enough
To gently push and prod students
to do their best
and fulfill their potential.
You are one of those.
Thank you.

For many families, this is a busy holiday weekend.  Be sure to make it extra special by taking a few minutes to read with your child or let him/her explore a great book.  Children are never too young to start!
