Brockton, Mass – On Wednesday March 4th, 2015 Brockton Day Nursery celebrated the BDN Reads Program. Local Professionals from our community came to the Nursery. The event was a great success as our students got to interact with many leaders from the business community. This form of generosity of their valuable time to promote literacy to our students is a wonderful giveback to our community and our program.
These members of the community joined us to read to the children at Brockton Day Nursery. Kathleen Smith and Liz Barry from Brockton Public Schools, Peter Manning with W.B. Mason, Jeffrey Gulko from Shaw’s Supermarket, Dennis Carman from the United Way of Greater Plymouth County, Brain Droukas from Brophy and Phillips, George Spilios from Crown Uniform, Noube Rateau from the Mayor of Brockton’s Office, Aida Monteiro from Mutual Bank, Rodney Kornegay from New York Life, Jim Smith from Rockland Trust and John Jurczyk from Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. Along with these members from the community, board members were also present during the reading. These members include: Craig Harsfield, Linda Milne, Mark Linde, and Dr. Paul Schreiber. The event was a great success and BDN will be hosting another day like this soon!
